A personalized buying brief.

We map what you actually need — size, budget, commute, cargo, kids, climate — and how you weigh reliability against features against fuel economy against resale. Then we turn it into a shortlist of makes, models, and trims worth your time. Nothing you could get from a Reddit thread.

    Verdict

Low-km 2022 Seltos EX priced below BC comparables with factory warranty still active across the board. The single minor rear-corner claim doesn't move the needle. Open at $24,500 and push the dealer to waive the $799 admin fee — standard ask on independent-dealer negotiations. Walk at listed.

Test drives, coordinated.

Booking test drives across four or five dealers is half a day of phone tag before you see a single car. We handle it — booking the appointments, sequencing the drives by geography, and briefing you on each car before you arrive. You drive. We do the logistics.

A pricing recommendation, before you negotiate.

Listed prices tell you what the dealer is asking, not what the car is worth. For each car on your shortlist we pull comparable BC listings — same year, trim, and similar kilometers — and plot them against the market. You know what it should cost before you walk in. You negotiate. We bring the comps.

Buying a used car should take a weekend, not a month.

Most people spend four to eight weeks searching, second-guessing, and refreshing listings. They take time off work for test drives of cars that were never going to be right. They overpay because they've given up, or they walk into a mechanical landmine because they didn't know what to check.

We built Car Shepherd because every person we talk to who recently bought a used car has the same story: they wish they'd had an expert in their corner who had seen this movie before.

We are that expert. One flat fee. One month. One car you feel good about.

How it works

01

Book a free 15-minute call.

We'll ask what you need, what you've been looking at, and whether this is the right service for you. If it's not, we'll tell you.

02

Sign up, pay $300 upfront.

We'll send you an intake form. You tell us your budget, your must-haves, your deal-breakers. We build your buying brief within 48 hours.

03

We go to work for 30 days.

Weekly ranked listings, test-drive coordination, price targets, and text/email access for questions any time.

04

You buy a car you feel good about.

Or we refund your money. Simple as that.

$300. Flat. One car.

No hourly billing. No commissions from dealers. No finance kickbacks. You pay us, we work for you, full stop.

If at the end of thirty days you haven't found a car you want to buy, we'll extend another thirty days at no cost. If you still haven't found one by day sixty and the market just isn't cooperating, we'll refund your $300. You lose nothing but time.

Questions we get asked.

Who's behind this?
A team of former auto industry operators based in Metro Vancouver. We've worked inside used-car retail and we built this because we know exactly where the process fails buyers.
Are you a dealer? Do you get paid commissions?
No. We have no relationship with any dealer, and we accept no commissions from anyone. Your $300 is the only money we earn from helping you buy.
Do you do inspections? Mechanical checks?
We coordinate with independent inspection shops in Metro Vancouver — we're not mechanics, and you wouldn't want us to be. We tell you what to ask them to look for, specific to the car.
Do you buy the car for me?
No. You buy the car — we prepare you to buy it well. You stay in control of the final decision and the negotiation. We coach you through it.
What if I change my mind halfway through?
Email us, we stop work, we refund the unused portion. We're not going to argue.
Do you cover all of Canada?
Not yet. Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley for now.
What if my budget is $80K and I want a Porsche?
We can do premium. The $300 flat fee is the same. If you want something very specific — a one-of-a-kind car, a private sale across the country, ongoing advisory beyond thirty days — email us and we'll talk.
